About Our Client
In 1959 the Monical family started making thin-crust pizzas in the small town of Tolono, Illinois. Before long, their recipe—as well as their supremely friendly, warm atmosphere—became a hit with the locals. Now today, there are more than 60 Monical’s Pizza® restaurants, located throughout Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Wisconsin. In a fiercely-competitive industry, Monical’s has managed to become a staple and stand out as a memorable midwestern pizza-eating experience.
The Problem
The data communication systems and equipment used at Monical’s were superbly outdated and no longer meeting the highly-regimented Payment Card Industry Security Card Standard (PCI DSS) standards. PCI-compliant connections are now required for Point of Sale (POS) systems, meaning Monical’s would need more control over what devices were connecting to their wireless network at each location.
Additionally, the extraction of weekly sales and performance reports was taking five minutes per store, yielding productivity issues, as well as frustration for those at headquarters who were relying on the speedy delivery of important information.
Our Solutions & Results
Together with Fortinet, CNG applied Fortinet Secure SD_WAN, FortiSwitch Ethernet access switches, and FortiAp access points across all 32 of its company-owned locations and franchises. Additionally, deployed was Unified Threat Protection software and remote Virtual VPN capability, significantly tightening their secure data network.
