About Our Client
Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 (BESD #53) is a school system located in Kankakee County, about an hour south of Chicago. They are committed to collaborating with staff, students, families, and community to provide a safe learning environment with innovative instructional practices. Their aim is to inspire all students to unlock and reach their potential as globally conscious learners.
The Problem
Due to the pandemic, an imminent need to shift into unprecedented remote learning situations arose. Prompt and smart solutions were needed in order to provide teachers and staff with the ability to work from and conduct classroom sessions from their homes. Prior to CNG getting involved, teachers had to use their home lines and personal cell phone devices to communicate with other staff, the school office, and with parents, resulting in a breech of privacy.
Our Strategy
CNG knew a Unified Communication solution was necessary—and got to work on a solution that extended their classroom phone extensions to their desktops and Chromebooks via softphone application. This would allow them to keep their personal device numbers private, regardless of where they were working.
Our Solutions & Results
CNG provided the latest in IP Office Server Edition technology, with Unified Communication capabilities, to include softphone, chat, messaging access and broadcast capabilities. A SIP trunk solution allowed them to retain all of their phone numbers, intercom capability and the ability to dial-out on phone lines with the appropriate school caller-ID.
Results:
A reduction and consolidation from six systems down to one.
Simplified maintenance needs for the IT staff.
Staff is now equipped with tools that enable personnel to work from anywhere at any time.
Personal privacy issues for staff have been mitigated, resulting in a better work environment.
